Why, you ask?
I got to spend time with family, college friends, former coworkers, friends who feel like family and people (and animals) that I simply adore. I went into this trip focusing on making it a relaxing, enjoyable, stress-free vacation and it was (mostly) just that.
Family dinner (or what's left of it!)
Baby sis at DeAngelo's Pizzeria. We went twice in one day.
After lunch with old friends at The Chimes
Sweet little Napoleon is ready for bed!
I got to watch my adorable cousin Shelbie perform in her very first dance recital at the same studio I took dance for many years. It was such a special moment to watch her dance - I smiled, laughed and cried all at once. She had the biggest, most joyful smile on her face and seemed to enjoy every moment. I can't wait to see her perform again in future years.
I spent the day in St. Francisville watching my incredibly talented mother at her first (and likely only) vocal recital. About 80 people came to share in this special day. Just like at Shelbie's dance recital, there were smiles and tears in the audience. She has the most beautiful voice and sings like an angel. She looks dashing in her dress too!
I drank these lovely lattes. Nothing better than CC's coffee. You better believe I packed two large bags of ground coffee and brought them back to New York!
All in all, it was a lovely trip full of delectable food, fantastic company and good weather. It went by way too quickly, but I'm honestly so thankful for this time at home. I feel refreshed and appreciative. Here's to looking forward to the next one!
