1. Going with the flow helps you live longer. Seriously-there's an actual news article on this. I won't lie, this is tough for me to do. "Type A" is my middle name, but living longer sounds glorious to me. I've been reminding myself to go with the flow all day. It's been working, but I'll forever be a work in progress in this area. It's good for business, though! :)
2. Standing up for myself feels exceptionally good and necessary. I dealt with some difficult, tough and hardened people today. Though it's hard in the moment to stay patient, I usually find myself wondering after the fact what their stories are and why they act and react the way they do. I have learned though that it's okay to set boundaries for myself in those sorts of interactions. It's also important to separate the reaction from the person. We all have our good moments and those not so good moments we wish could be erased forever. I know I do.
In stark contrast, some people can be so delightful, cheery and inspiring that it makes the challenging moments okay. I had both types of interactions today, and I'm thankful for that. The good ones were good and the tough ones are slowly helping to teach me when it's appropriate to level the playing field and establish mutual respect.
3. People will stare at your feet if wearing vibram five fingers.Funny, but true. While walking to the train, I had lots of admirers...or at least I think they were admirers. :)
I hope you all have lovely evenings and a good week.
A
