The Last 15

The time has come - the time to lose that last nagging bit of extra weight. For some people, it's the last 5 or 10 pounds. For me? It's 15. It may seem like a lot, but this is a healthy and realistic goal I've set for myself that I'm determined to see through. I have realized that just because I used to be chunky, doesn't mean I have to settle for a larger size that, in comparison, is "pretty good." Nope - I deserve to be thin, so I'm going for it! At the end of this journey, I'm treating myself to something awesome. Maybe a weekend trip to the beach or a new piece of vintage jewelry. :)

As a result, I'm changing to focus of my blog for a bit. For the most part, I will be writing about my journey to live a healthier (therefore, thinner) lifestyle. Healthy recipes, running trails, interesting reading related to wellness and nutrition, inspirational podcasts. You name it and it's going to be in here! Any and all resources or tips are welcomed!

Here's my plan. First of all, I'm not dieting or partaking in any type on program. Rather, I'm going to eat healthy proteins, fresh and organic fruits and veggies, whole grains, and natural sugars. If I can't pronounce the items on the ingredient list, chances are its not going in my body. I'm still going to drink coffee and eat sweets! Just the good, wholesome kind. For exercise, I'm going to continue making activity a regular part of my day. When I can walk, I'm going to. I'm also going to work out 2-3 days per week - most yoga and/or running. This isn't nearly the amount I used to work out, but it's most realistic given my work schedule as of late.

I hope you're as excited to read about this journey as I am to start it.

  1. You go, girl! I'm currently trying to lose 35, 6 down. I've found that doing Zumba with co-workers and just watching what I eat has been doing a world of good. I know you can do it!
