Deliciously Good Yoga & Finishing Grad School

I must have created some good karma for myself with my last post, because boy oh boy did I have a great yoga session last night.  I felt balanced, flexible, and it was just what I needed physically and mentally.  Like Oprah says, it's like putting money in your bank.  In other words, it's good for the body and soul.

We'd passed by a nearby yoga studio - Usha Veda Yoga - several times, and finally went to a class last night.  (I say "finally" as if I've been here more than 7 days). Mollie was at doggie daycare until 8:30 pm, so it worked out perfectly to attend a Vinyasa class until 8:15.  It was JUST what I needed.  Lifting furniture and heavy boxes, and just the general stress of moving had taken its toll, so this class was nice and restorative. I'm much stronger than I remember too!  That's always a nice surprise. I will definitely be going back.  The intro week price is a mere $25, and I will most definitely be getting my money's worth!

In other news, I will officially submit my last final of my Master's degree today.  That year and a half certainly flew by.  Although I won't be walking in graduation, it's still an incredibly exciting thing to accomplish and complete.  My soon-to-be degree, which is in Human Resource Education, will serve me well.  That, I know. I often feel that people underestimate the importance of the "softer" side of the work environment; however, tending to employees'  basic and motivational needs is what keeps them a) satisfied at work and b) working for that particular company. Most people I talk to that leave their current jobs aren't leaving because they disliked what they were doing.  They leave because they feel under appreciated, overworked, or perhaps they aren't growing in their roles.  So, stepping off the soapbox now, I'm excited about my degree and looking forward to both learning from others and sharing what I know in future roles.

Looking forward to an enjoyable weekend.  I hope you all take some time to rest up and put money in your bank, but not the green kind, the yoga kind.
